Yellow Lady Slipper /Cypripède jaune

(cypridedium calceolus or cypripedium parviflorum)
This lady slipper orchid grows by the pond in a partly shadey garden with an eastern exposure in Red Deer, Alberta.  This plant usually flowers in early June. The scientific name cypripedium is linked to the island of Cyprus,  which is the birthplace of the Goddess of Love.
In 2013 the Lady Slippers bloom in abundance at the beginning of June.
