Morden Fireglow Rose #2

 Unique, double, fragrant, fiery orange blooms with yellow underside.  Continuous bloomer.  Vigorous, low-growing shrub with dark green glossy foliage.  Good resistance to powdery mildew.  Prefers a moist, well-drained soil.  Drought tolerant once established.  

Average Size:  Height 36 inches

Spread 24 inches

Cold Hardiness: Zone 3

Water regularly throughout the growing season.  Fertilize in early spring.  

Prune in late winter to early spring.

Planted July 26, 2024 in northeast exposure at the Lakehouse.

Jenny's Birthday Lilies

 Jenny planted four new reblooming Daylilies today on her birthday 2024.  

Snowy Owl and Kona Coast chosen because their names are great!

Big Ross and Jamaica Jammin because they are taller!

They are looking very healthy!

We started following the ice out dates in 2019.  I have no record of the family winners of our ice out competition from 2019-2021.  If anyone remembers who won which year let me know and I will update the list.

Today is April 23 and Grandpa is feeling lucky.  Grandmaman is doubtful that the ice will be out by April 30. Here are a few pics from today.  Lots of thick ice still down by the cabin.  Lots of open water and thinner ice flows here in Norglenwold.  The ice hasn't broken up much though, seems to be one big sheet.

Linden Tree

 This  Linden Tree was planted in a Calgary backyard

 in the summer of 2023.

Weeping Caragana

Planted in the front flower bed with

 full sun exposure at the Lakehouse in Norglenwold.

A Weeping Caragana is a deciduous tree with a strong central leader and a shapely form and gracefully arching branches.
