This frog seems to be quite comfy resting in the sun on the sundeck in Massachusetts, looking like a rock as he rests before the incoming storm.

Magnolia Tree
Moving to a new home in late fall means discovering all kinds
of surprises in early spring. Plant identification can be both
challenging and fun.
This bud could very well be the bud of a magnolia tree.
Lots of research and observation may identify this tree more precisely.
The blossoms are about 3 inches wide and the tree is about 15 to 20 feet high.
So far thinking Sweetbay Magnolia or Star Magnolia.
