Emily Carr Rose
This is my second Emily Carr Rose bush. The first one was planted in our home in Red Deer and thrived in a sunny bed. This new bush has been planted in a Northwest facing bed at the Lakehouse in Norglenwod on Sylvan Lake, but due to the openess of the yard should
receive ample sun.
The Emily Carr Rose bush belongs to the Canadian Artist Series and is a compact plant growing to a height of 1.1 to 1.5 meters. and a width of about 1 meter.

The dark red to near black blooms open to deep red semi-double blooms from spring to frost. Glossy green foliage turns to golden yellow in the fall.
This bush is vigorous, hardy and disease resistant but intolerant of standing water.

White Poppies with Blue/Purple Center
This poppy grew from seed from
poppy pods harvested last summer.
So far there appears that there will only be one flower this year. It is planted in a backyard bed facing east and in summer gets good sunlight most of the day.

This mature Weeping Birch Tree has been growing for years in the front yard of this SW Calgary home. How many more years will this birch tree grow?
Planter Peonies
2017 is reason to celebrate Canada. Happy Canada Day 150. These peonies greet visitors on the
front step of a SW Calgary home.
Grandma Bolton's Rose Bush
This rose bush holds special meaning to a Calgary family. Grandma Bolton's rose bush was moved from Grandma Bolton's farm to a starter home first in SE Calgary, then to the family's second home in the same neighborhood and now recently moved with the family of five to their new home in Mount Royal. It is holding it's own and appears to have handled nicely the transition to it's new location once again. It should be blooming soon.
